Training of herbalists remotely or in person
Montpellier, a sunny city in the south of France, has long been a cradle of medicine. Today, it is home to an institution that perpetuates this tradition in a unique way: IMDERPLAM, the Mediterranean Institute of Medicinal Plants. Since its founding in 1974, this school has trained more than 10 people passionate about plants and their therapeutic properties.
A love story for plants and transmission
The story of IMDERPLAM is above all that of a passion shared by two exceptional beings: Claudine Luu, doctor of pharmacy and specialist in phytotherapy, and Vinh Luu, doctor of physical sciences and expert in traditional Chinese medicine. Their common vision of a gentle and global medicine, combining ancestral knowledge with modern scientific discoveries, gave birth to this unique school of its kind.
Today, IMDERPLAM is much more than just a school. It is a true learning community, led by a multidisciplinary teaching team made up of doctors, pharmacists, botanists and other passionate experts. It is also a dynamic network of former students, united by their love of plants and their desire to share their knowledge.
Complete and innovative teaching
IMDERPLAM offers two long training courses and several specialized training courses, all focused on medicinal plants, alternative medicine andtraditional herbalism. The teaching, both theoretical and practical, takes place in an idyllic setting: a Provençal farmhouse surrounded by a garden of medicinal plants, ideal for observation and learning.
The objective of the school is clear: to train herbalists competent and responsible, capable of advising and supporting people in their quest for natural well-being. Students acquire in-depth knowledge in botany, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, traditional Chinese medicine, but also in legislation and ethics.
Herbalism: a profession of the future in Montpellier
Although the herbalist certificate was abolished in France in 1941, interest in medicinal plants never stopped growing. IMDERPLAM, as a founding member of the French Federation of Herbalism Schools (FFEH), actively works for the recognition and revaluation of this essential profession.
L'herbalist, expert in medicinal plants, plays a crucial role in prevention and supporting people towards better health. He is a public health actor in his own right, working in collaboration with other health professionals.
IMDERPLAM: a major player in the renaissance of herbalism in Montpellier
By forming competent and passionate herbalists, IMDERPLAM contributes to the rebirth of this ancestral profession. The school is committed to transmitting traditional know-how while integrating the latest scientific advances, while respecting nature and its resources.
